Las Vegas Puppy Training Tips

Q: What kind to collar is the best for my puppy?

A: I like the Martingale collars for puppies, because the dog cannot slip out of the collar and go running down the road. If you are not sure what they look like here is are some pictures of a few:

Q: What is the best way to start training my puppy in Las Vegas?

A: I like to start puppies out with clicker training, because it's fun and they seen to really love it.

Q: How do I potty train my puppy?

A: The method that I like best it to establish a schedule for them, here is how you do it:

1. Get up at the same time every day and feed them just half of their daily amount.

2. Walk them immediately after you feed them, taking the clicker and a couple treats, when you see them sniffing around like they may go wee get the clicker and treats ready, when they wee, just click the clicker once and give them a treat and then say good girl or good boy a few times and pet them.

3. If you get your puppy from a Las Vegas Breeder of Shelter you should immediately take them home and let them outside for a bit to run and play as they will probably still have a lot of unspent energy. If you must go to work then put the puppy in a crate or large playpen (if they are tiny). Just be sure you only leave them in the crate for a few hours at a time.

4. Come home from work for lunch and let them either out into the backyard on leash or walk them again using the same method as in the morning.

5. In the evening when you get off from work feed them first if you think they can wait some dogs can and some can't, then after feeding repeat the walk you did in the morning with the clicker and treats, remember if your puppy is very young they may still have accidents as their bladder is not that strong, so please be patient and don't get mad at them... after all you were a baby too once.
